'AASHRAY' Program: Support for Children and Community Welfare

The Samarthan Trust’s commitment to social welfare and supporting vulnerable children can be consolidated into the ‘AASHRAY’ Program (Meaning: Shelter/Dependence), focusing on holistic child development and broader community resilience.

Support for Orphans and Underprivileged Children

The goal is to provide a comprehensive, stable environment for disadvantaged children, ensuring they receive the care, education, and security necessary to thrive

Holistic Child Development Centers ('Bal Kalyan Kendras')

Education

Ensuring access to quality formal schooling. This includes providing uniforms, books, stationery, and tutoring to bridge learning gaps.

Shelter & Care

Establishing and managing safe, nurturing hostels and residential homes ('Aashray Greh') for orphaned and socio-economically disadvantaged children. These homes are staffed by trained caretakers and counselors.

Healthcare

Providing regular medical check-ups, necessary vaccinations, nutritional support, and immediate access to care for illnesses. This is integrated with the 'SWASTHYA SARVOTTOM' Program's health camps

Overall Well-being

Focusing on the emotional and psychological health of the children through counseling, recreational activities, sports, and life skills training to foster resilience and confidence.

Institutional Management and Infrastructure

Hostel Management

Creating and managing dedicated hostels and housing facilities not just for students, but also for teachers, counselors, and support staff involved in the initiatives. This ensures a stable, dedicated team remains committed to the children's welfare long-term

Safe Environment Standards

Adhering to strict safety, hygiene, and dietary standards in all residential facilities, making the 'Aashray Greh' a true home environment.

Social Welfare and Community Development

The second part of the ‘AASHRAY’ Program extends the Trust’s impact beyond the residential centers to address larger community and environmental challenges

Poverty Alleviation and Disaster Relief

Livelihood Integration

Engaging low-income families in poverty alleviation efforts by connecting them to the Trust's 'SAKSHAM' skill development programs and micro-finance opportunities.

Disaster Preparedness & Response

Organizing local community teams to conduct disaster risk reduction training (e.g., first aid, evacuation drills). Mobilizing immediate relief supplies (food, water, blankets, medical aid) during natural disasters, and focusing on long-term rehabilitation support afterward

Awareness and Sustainable Development

Social Welfare Advocacy

Conducting campaigns and programs on critical social issues like the importance of girl child education, child protection, anti-drug abuse, and gender equality.

Environmental Protection

Organizing initiatives focused on sustainable development: ○ Tree Plantation Drives: Engaging youth and communities in reforestation efforts. ○ Waste Management: Running workshops on proper segregation, recycling, and composting techniques. ○ Water Conservation: Promoting rainwater harvesting and efficient water usage in rural areas.

Community Engagement

Hosting regular open forums and workshops to encourage community participation in local development decisions and fostering a sense of ownership over public resources and welfare programs

By combining direct care for vulnerable children with proactive community development and environmental stewardship, the 'AASHRAY' Program ensures Samarthan Trust creates a sustainable and supportive ecosystem for the future of India

Empowering women and youth through education, skills, and healthcare for a better tomorrow.
